7 months!!
Yes, I know its been months since I posted. Moana is sleeping so I finally have time to update those who still bother to check the blog haha.
Oh, my baby has grown so much!! Its tough to remember every milestone she's made but I remember the feeling very clearly. Especially most recently, she has signed her first words. "Dada" and "more". Moana was sitting with me on the bed and I was playing with her when I asked her "where's dada?". John was sleeping. She looked at him, touched him and then made the sign "Dada" very clearly while looking at his face. Wowee!! I was so amazed all I could say was "good job!! You're right!!" She smiled and seemed excited. Then the next day, John said he was finished feeding her and getting ready to clean up when she signed her version of "more". John signed back to confirm and indicated putting food in her mouth and she opened wide and smiled. I think she has been watching us for quite a while figuring things out so when she needed to communicate, she could. She is growing up so fast!
Still isn't crawling, doesn't like spending time on her tummy. If she wants to be mobile, she'll fuss for us to offer our fingers and away she goes walking around. Something funny to remember, she invented her own game for laughs. She'll look at us then bend her head from side to side, laughing all the while. I've never done that with her so it was pretty entertaining. I'm grateful to have such a happy baby, even with every physical issue she's been through. She has yet to have a month free from issues, from colds to RSV, to yeast infections, to teething and now some form of ringworm.... Despite it all, she only complains when the pain seems too much and then a cuddle and song works pretty good.
John is doing so well in school, he's actually ahead in all his class assignments. I look forward to him finishing up next year, but am apprehensive about his student teaching assignment. It'll take him away from us at least 8 weeks and I don't think a baby should be without her daddy for so long. But I'm hoping and praying it will all work out. We've sacrificed so much to ensure a good future for our family, I'll just have to be a bit more patient.
As for me, hahahah, I'm doing great. I love spring and the promise it brings of new life. If only it lasted longer in Fresno. I'm aiming to finish my project this fall so everything will be wrapped up for my degree. I worry about whether I should work, but I look at my baby and know I don't want to be away from her unless I absolutely have to. I have everything I need and want in life so what more should I get? ....More 'happyness' is always good!! :)
